The Night of Bliss

She found herself staring,
At his incredible pair of dark brown eyes,
And he stared back with a glint in his eyes,
Flames of passion and desire flared in their eyes

He drew her closer,
And held her in his arms,
She drank in his nearness,
Almost feeling dizzy by his presence

He traced the outline of her soft pink lips,
And his lips devoured hers,
Into a long,passionate kiss,
Leaving her in a state of rapture

She rose,
With a titillating feeling,
As it slowly sunk into her,
That it was not real,
But a dream........

The Uncountable Days

                 Whoo! It does seem to be a pretty long time since I wrote my last post(almost been 3 months). It's been a pretty awesome few months for me...What with me entering my 3rd year of engineering,the college trip to Bangalore and Mysore,the trip to Nellore to attend Tameem's wedding and the short trip to Coimbatore where I did a hell lot of shopping at The Chennai Silks(Oh! How I loveee that place!)..Yes,the past few months has been basically filled with lots of travelling,shopping n fun! Plus sitting 'vetti' at college and chatting away with friends......

                It's been on the back of my mind for the past few days..to post the poem which I came up with at a poetry competition that I took part in...But I guess I get to implement it only today-the 10th of October,which also happens to be the day I wrote my very first blog post last year[it was 10-10-10]...Yes!..it's been exactly a year since I started blogging! So I thought what better way there was to show my love for blogging than by writing a post on it's 1st anniversary..! Heheeee :D  So here it goes...

                                             The Uncountable Days

It all seems like yesterday,
A cute little girl,
Playing in the hallway;
The beautiful girl,
Lost in love,
With the man of her dreams;
The young,shy bride
Excited about her new life;
And the proud mother,
Blessed with two beautiful children..........

As I look back,
I realise;
Much to my surprise,
The years rolled by............

Out of my reach,
Lie my most cherished memories;
Of nothing but,
The Uncountable days................

                    My mind went totally blank when I heard the title.But then I guess I managed to write this in the end...and was quite happy with it...even though i didn't win any prize...sighh...:( But anyways....here it is...my take on "The Uncountable Days",which revolves around the different stages of a girl's life and how she reminiscences over her past.........

The Worst Crime of All....

                    My blood boils as I hear it yet again.RAPE.A crime which at times seems worse than murder itself.The big difference-the murdered victim has a fatal end to her life whereas the victim of rape has dreadful memories and humiliation that she has to face and live with each and every day for the rest of her life.

It’s disturbing to watch and read about it in the News and the Papers…the young Dalit girl who lost her eye as she resisted rape,the girl getting gang-raped by her own friends,a girl raped and murdered in a lonely compartment in the train,a girl raped by a police-man,a girl drugged,and raped in her unconscious state,a 6 yr old girl raped by her Uncle,a girl raped by a man under the influence of alcohol or drugs & the nurse,Aruna who lives life as a vegetable.

Some of the reasons for Rape given by the rapists are:"It’s her fault! Who asked her to walk alone in the middle of the night,in a lonely street? Who asked her to wear revealing clothes? Who asked her to travel alone? Who asked her to go partying all night? Well,this is what happens if she does all this.She asked for it! It’s all her fault!"

So does all these actions of a modern,independent,beautiful women make her a victim of Rape? No.A number of  these crimes are committed either in broad day-light,in the presence of people,to innocent girls who dress appropriately and behave appropriately.And to the young girl who is minding her own business and living her beautiful life.Yet,all these girls are found as victims.So,what do you say to that?

Well,I don’t think all these are valid reasons.There is no explanation or excuse for what he did! Personally,I reckon there’s just one reason.The man just wants to have sex and satisfy his own sexual urges and needs.And for those who are incapable of finding someone for their sexual needs-"Hello,Mr. there’s a thing called Prostitution.Please feel free to find someone there.Why attack these young,unassuming virgins and make their life a living hell?" (Not that Prostitution should be encouraged).Yes,it’s all upto you.U alone are responsible for the rape.You have the choice to act differently. Yet,when you find the teensiest chance or opportunity to attack a helpless girl,you charge-in,like she’s a piece of fresh meat,playing deaf to her cries,blind to her tears and the look in her eyes and force yourself on her,overpowering her struggling body which tries to resist you.Oh! U should be ashamed.....

10 cases of rape in the last 48 hours in India alone is the shocking story I saw on TV today.I sighed as I saw the victims walk with their face covered.What has become to Man-kind? Where is the safety for the women? How safe are the girls? How safe am I?

The victim of rape lives in a shell for the rest of her life.Not able to be her same usual self,not finding courage to walk alone,always having the fear that someone is out there looking at her.She lives with tarnished memories.Whereas the rapist gets away with this.....

Something has to be done.Something that imparts fear upon the rapist for committing this crime.Yes. A punishment.No..am not talking about the Death Penalty here.Will it change anything in anyone’s life? Will the girl find any consolation from the evil man who deflowered her? Or is it enough locking him behind bars and sending him out on bail after sometime? No…Nothing will alter what has happened.

Am talking about a punishment which is so severe..so brutal.Yes…the rapist should suffer.Suffer for what he has done.No compassion or sympathy must be shown.And maybe,something can be done so that he can never indulge in the activity that he committed for the rest of his life ever again.Let him be helplessly sex-hungry…I don’t care.He should have dealt with his sexuality safely.The punishment must make him plead for death.And hopefully it is a punishment that is feared by all,makes the man think twice before committing this terrible crime and in the long run possibly even put a halt to this and make this world a safer place to live in.......

The Tremor Within.......

As February is said to be the month of  Love and Romance,I would like to spread a bit a love in the air....So brace yourself to be knocked-out by the sizzling love poems....

The Tremor Within....

Her dark black eyes darted swiftly,
As they scanned the entire hall;
Her heart missed a beat,
As she saw him across the hall;
Butterflies and Goosebumps threatened to blind her senses.

Her heart leapt;
As their eyes met;
He smiled;
She smiled;
Warmer and Wider
than ever;

Until their gaze was broken
By her;
As she looked down the floor,
Blushing;
Wishing she was his,
And his alone......

The Four Letter Word Called-Love

 Never did I wonder,
 that I would fall in love;
 Her grace,her beauty,
 the luscious lips and the windblown hair;
 Her tender,pale skin caressed by the breeze;
 And the voice of an Angel,
 Cast a spell over me.....

 I stood like a rock,
 Mesmerized by her beauty;
 My heart started pounding,
 faster than ever;
 As my eyes followed her,
When she walked past me;

 Emotions engulfed me;
 A feeling I had never felt before;
So true,So pure,So magical;
What do you call it?
The four letter word called-Love.

        I think it's pretty good....Coz this fetched me a 2nd prize for the Poetry Competition held during my College Day....What do you'll reckon?! :P

Review on the-Sugar Spring Tales

              An honest and frank review on the,"SUGAR SPRING TALES"
                               "Sugar Spring Tales" is a 161 paged,book of a collection of love stories. It has a pleasant cover, with white flowers with a greenish tinge to it in a white background,with the letters written in brown colored italics...the cover is nice to see...but how is the book? I opened the book with much anticipation...the 1st page holds the "Dedication page" followed by the "Contents" which had a total of  7 chapters...

Autumn Leaves:
                             This story reminded me of the "Mills and Boon"...i don't mean the romance and all that but the love story.The way the Character,"Anna" battled with her feelings with her Dream Man,Kenny and how she finally ended up with her friend,Dam.The starting was quite vague but i found myself quite immersed on turning the next few pages......
A Little More Room:
                                    This is a story of a Boss in a company,Bill who died a tragic death in his office and orphans his 6-year old daughter,Amelia.It also shows the relationship of the people who are workaholics and how their love-life can fall-apart and come crashing to the ground.This story was however very touching,and I found myself in tears in the end........
My Best Love Letter:
                                      This can't be called a story but it contains a "Love Letter" written by a heart-broken soul.The starting was however kind of boring and complicated and I found myself just skipping the lines. The "Letter" was unlike the 1st part and contained the feelings and emotions of a man with a ripped heart.And I loved the ending of it,"I am going back to sleep and wouldn't really invite you to my dreams......" Pretty catchy,huh?!
PurpleHeart:
                     This story is about how a man gets married to another woman when still in love with his college-love,who abandoned him for the sake of her parents. It shows how a man can still have feelings for his "First Love" even though he's married and moved on.The story went on pretty well.However,I stopped when I came across the four-letter word,"F***" which was used quite casually inspite of how offensive it was.But hey! What the hell! and I read on.......
The Arrangement:
                               It shows the procedure of an "Arranged Marraige" and the life of a proper Indian Family. I liked the story but it got me thinking why the girl couldn't compromise and get married when she liked him!! I mean....What the hell! Get another job in a School....It's not the end of the world!! And thankfully, in the end,the girl considered what I was thinking and it ended with a happy ending.I also liked the way the boy is considerate and respects the girl's views.........
Train Tales:
                     The story is good and interesting....it reminded me of  the train journeys and everything. However,I felt the ending was quite abrupt.I mean,I was just turning the next page to find out what happened next but instead I found the next chapter! I felt the ending could have been a bit different.Maybe a bit more about the Snake n the Smugglers which could have been posted on the News or something.Also the part where he drops his bag in the station and leaves it behind...I mean...Abandoning ur own luggage??!!!.......
Orange Shells:
                         The story was pretty good.It's about the re-union of a two lovers.I just felt that one part of it could have been a bit more descriptive.The part were the reason for the break-up was not mentioned.Other than this,I couldn't really find anything wrong with the story......& Yes! Moms can be very fussy! :)

                                        Overall,the book was good and very enjoyable.I just felt some stories were kind of unfinished and incomplete like parts of it were missing and bitten off with abrupt endings.

                                      Anyway's a BIG thumbs-up and kudos to the Author,Mrs Sandhya Renu for writing this wonderful book!! Am so proud and happy for you for taking an effort to write a book! Honestly,hats off to U!! Looking forward to see more of your works akka!

                                                      CHEERS!!! :)
